Day Four: Graduate School
So, I’ve been taking this class: PH757 Public Health Informatics. 757. That’s a pretty big number. It came with big expectations from this girl’s head. I really need to learn to stop expecting things and start experiencing things. Maybe that is what the universe is trying to teach me.

Day Three: Changes
Day Two: Cleveland Ups and Downs
Day One
It is November. Several of my friends are writing novels. I will be busy with group projects for my informatics class, opening (really truly maybe?) our new building, and knitting. No novels here this year.
This is the month I tense up a little, bracing against the cold. I want to sleep more, talk less. It is full of effort. This year. Oh, this year I am going to work to make this a little easier. Or relax to make it a little easier. One of those. Or both.
Day one. There was work and a nap and cooking with bears and even a little quiet. Not a terrible beginning at all.
Road Trip
The Bankstas and I head out to Cleveland today to soak up a jazz conference. In the time I’ve been singing with Between the Banks, I have come to know and love these folks and I am looking forward to some time with them away from daily tasks and worries.
Last night, Lima Bean anxiously waited for me to finish attaching buttons to her new wristlets. They have met with her approval and I am pleased. I know what to do differently next time to make them better. This is good news for one singer-friend who has already expressed an interest.
The next project was meant for me, but may end up too small and be sent out into the universe.
Now to finish packing and begin this amazing journey!
Lady Bug’s Socks
Mount Greylock – Day Two
The Kettle Slayer and I went back to Mount Greylock today. Sometimes there are so many things to look at, I get a little overwhelmed. Today, I chose to focus on just a couple of them. I spent a good deal of time looking at the tree trunks.
Today’s walk was shorter than yesterday, but just as lovely. Every day I am amazed at how much beauty is all around in these Berkshire Mountains.
Tomorrow is a holiday for me. There will be some homework, knitting and more outside.
Mount Greylock
Around the House Socks
The Kettle Slayer’s socks are done. It was incredibly satisfying to finish them so quickly, but I have no illusions that all knitting from this point forward will move so fast. These are relatively large and I worried I would run out of yarn so I ordered just one more skein. Of course, there was enough yarn after all.
I hope they will be warm and well-loved. Next stop, brighter colors!
Wednesday Outside
Sunshine and warm breezes. New England winters, while not full of the bitter prairie winds, are long and grey. We soaked up the sun today, preparing our hearts for the cold to come. Lady Bug earned five dollars by raking the yard while Lima Bean napped in the fresh air. It will not surprise any of you to hear that I spent that outside time knitting a sock.
